Andrew and I left for Earth Freq. on the Tues. before the festival started and arrived late at night after Andrew made a mistake in the directions and had us drive an extra 45 km (27 miles) down rough dirt roads past the festival, for a total of a 90 km detour. That made the tank go empty and had to buy 10 liters of gas (luckily from the festival site owner) at double price, which made it $12 a gallon! We met Jingles and Kana there and set up camp, then had to move it over and double check that it was okay where it was. Well guess what? The next morning we were told we had to move again! The site was all steep hills but we found a relatively flat spot and set up an awesome camp with the help of this young kid Hilly who came with them. We were also eventually joined by this awesome guy Jay who was building the bamboo entrance to the main stage with the help of Jingles and Hilly. We all took turns cooking dinners each night and had incredible food.

We built the bottom half of the Portal Wed. and finished it the next day. The Portal was placed in an excellent location next to the healing yurt right in the center of the festival, about midway between the 2 stages. I was having trouble getting the Quasar Wave Transducer to work properly until this girl Jessica Galactic/Creatress Butterfly that I had met in Byron Bay and got a pass for came and laughed her head off in it Fri. night while I adjusted the sound. It worked perfectly the rest of the festival.

It was a huge success, with lots of people checking it out and spontaneously doing all sorts of activities in it, from meditating, chanting and playing Tibetan bowls, to singing and dancing. We actually had a group of around 15 people dance the Hokey Pokey in it one night after I tried leading some sort of Spiral walking/chanting mediation. We all ended up standing in a circle, so I jokingly said “You put your right leg in, you put your right leg out” and someone in the circle proceeded to lead the entire dance!

The festival had perfect weather the whole time, never too hot or cold and always partly cloudy during the days to keep the sun from being to hot. Only on the day after the festival, once we had already taken down the Portal and were just finishing packing up the camp, that a huge rainstorm came! It was really the most amazing festival with about 2000 people that were for the most part very high consciousness. There were really nice opening and closing ceremony meditations and a wide variety of live and electronic music, from rap and reggae to psy-trance and dubstep. There wasn’t excessive alcohol use or trash everywhere, which is unusual for a festival like this. The festival organized Paul Abad did an incredible job running it and played a DJ set Sun. afternoon.

We returned to Byron Bay late Tues. night Feb 21 and spent the remaining time in Australia staying at Andrew and Ross’s place in Byron Bay until I left to come to Bali Fri. March 2. I helped Jessica Butterfly move into a new house and she did a healing session with me. There was an all night trance party way out in the hills set up by the Japanese crew that did the decorations for the Earth. Freq. main stage and Lifestyle Village at Rainbow Serpent. I went with this girl Brigid that I had met hitch hiking when I was staying up at Mark’s in Wilsons’ creek in early Jan. before I had rented the pickup. Although there was a really good connection between, she was also only interested in a platonic connection.

I met Samaya and Asef of Zakay Glass Creations that makes incredible geometric glass sculptures. They had just seen my website synchronistically before I walked into their studio. They invited me to do a presentation on the Portals at their studio the night before I left. They also introduced me to this incredible “mathemagician” Jain at a group dinner one night. I also set the Turquoise Portal up in the back of one of Starseed Garden’s sheds for them to use. It is pretty well worn from the festivals and this will most likely be its final resting place.

I will probably build the next one back in the states bigger than this one, if I get the support from Symbiosis Eclipse and Lightening in a Bottle festivals I have been in contact to bring it to. I would also like to come back to Australia in Oct. to build a bigger one for the Eclipse 2012 Festival in Cairns next Nov.
I just arrived in Bali yesterday and me my friends Tony Gwilliams and Marita Vidal who own the Bloo Lagoon eco resort in Padangbai. They had me visit here three years ago for the grand opening and I built a Quasar Wave Transducer to be installed in the spa they are building here. The spa is nearing completion finally and I’m here to help get it installed.
